I firmly believe that having children is the biggest life changing event for women, and hence photographing bumps is a delightful part of my work, and it just got a lot more glamourous! I continuously invest in professional photography training, and earlier this year...

The problem with awards! When someone else get’s The problem with awards! When someone else get’s an award I think it’ amazing and wow, and I’m totally impressed. When I get an ward, the voices in my head immediate start a record of “maybe not very many people entered his time”, “I just got lucky that the judge really liked my style”, “these kind of awards don’t really mean anything anyway”, “I bet the other photographers don’t feel I deserved to win that”…. Do you have those same voices? Anyway, all that said, these lovely trophies (I choose 2, rather than getting all 11!), are settling into the studio very nicely, and I must admit the more I walk in and see them, the more I feel they are “mine” ;) I’ve written a blurb on my blog about the conflicts, maybe more for me than for anyone else, but you are welcome to read it, if this resonates. Yes, I finally got a Highly Commended for a pictur Yes, I finally got a Highly Commended for a picture of one of our own boys! Lock down silver lining, I’ve taken so many picture of the boys with the proper camera ;) I spotted this pretty spot on a morning run and had a feeling it would be lovely at sun set, and it was! There has been quite a bit of “take the kids to There has been quite a bit of “take the kids to work” this week, and next week will be no better! We are filing this little phase under “early work experience” ;) But seriously, I’m speaking to more and more mums now who are expected to work full time from home, with kids around, and it makes me mighty grateful that we both have a lot of flexibility and sometimes the boys just have to come along and hang out at Graftons… Have you had to take your kids to work with you? I’m spending a bit of time with the remote contr I’m spending a bit of time with the remote control for the camera while we are all stuck at home – practice what I preach and all that. Most of the time it isn’t particularly successful, and it all falls apart, but it makes me smile. These are from April, which feels forever ago, but now I’m pleased I took them! Before I had kids, I was only interested in “perfect” pictures, now I’m all about the connection and the emotions! I guess, now I shoot the images that I would like to have :) There is just one tiny little place left for the Bump Hour event next week. Anyway, it was an important session, because Sue had recently joined the legendary @marieforleo B-school, so she will need great images!
